New Decade||No Resolutions But Plenty of Promise

2020 is not just a new year but a new decade! Take a deep breath, pat yourself on the back and let’s get this party started!

First and foremost, NO RESOLUTIONS! Seriously, no resolutions. Instead, I want you to pick one word that you can remember easily (not like all those crazy passwords we always forget!), but a word you can say when the shit hits the fan and you have to power through. My word is GRACE.

Find a word you can say when the shit hits the fan and you have to power thought.

Second, my challenge to all of you is to everyday do one thing that reflects dignity, respect and tolerance. These are acts of kindness that will cost no to little money, take very little time, and has a guarantee that you will feel the benefits immensely! Promise! Check out this 31-day Start-the-Decade-Right calendar as an example, but please feel free to add /delete/mix up. Make it your own!

Lastly, remember that every day is a fresh new beginning. It doesn’t HAVE to start on January 1, but do start! This is not something to stress about, it truly is a way to relieve stress.

Science tells us when we do something nice for someone else, whatever that is, we release endorphins. Endorphins are chemicals produced by the body to relieve stress and pain! It’s like a happy pill that you don’t have to take.

So, release your inner child who is starting a new school year with their list of new school supplies and start this new decade with a bang! Let us know what word you choose and I will follow up toward the end of the month to see how everyone is doing. Until next time! Cheers!

Liz

First and foremost, Liz is a wife, mother of two beautiful and intelligent daughters and one son-in-law and one soon to be son-in-law, and one bigger than life Maltese and first time grandmother of an adorable baby boy!

I am a friend, a sister, a tennis player and love to laugh at funny jokes (some I hear over and over, but always forget the punch lines) and secretly, I love to sing but usually get the lyrics wrong. Not a big deal, as I just think mine work anyway!

I also like to needlepoint, shop, go out with friends, have friends over for dinner, help my husband cook (I’m spoiled, he LOVES to cook!), bake and play with my dog!

I also love to write! Until next time…
