It’s 2022. We’re more jaded now than last year. But we’re also eternal optimists. If you couldn’t (Wouldn’t or didn’t) think of a fresh start for 2022, here’s your chance to grab some ideas!
Pick your word for the year ( don’t worry, you can change it!)
Give someone a compliment
Take 5 minutes (use a timer) and pick up a mess
Take a 30 minute break for yourself, NO ONE ELSE
Write a note to someone
Let someone go in front of you – can be the grocery line or in traffic
Take a friend or colleague out for coffee (Or maybe just do it by Zoom)
Go to the library (If it’s open)
Put your phone away for an hour
Try a new recipe
Call an old friend
Take a walk, no phone
Watch an old movie (Recommending Moonstruck)
Do something kind for yourself
Give a treat to your postal carrier
Smile at a stranger
Give someone a hug
Tell a joke to make someone smile
Go through old pictures and send to someone as a surprise
Tell a loved one that you are proud of them
Go through your closet and give something away
Hold the door open for someone
Say hello and make eye contact with a homeless person, buy them coffee if you can!
Do something unexpected for someone
Put some money in a parking meter that is almost expired or is!
Read a poem
Sit down and enjoy some quiet time
Listen to music that you usually don’t listen to
Write a love letter
Offer to help a neighbor with a chore
Review how you feel after a month of positive affirmations
Have some other ideas to add to this list? Let’s work together on a February list and rock 2021 like the Queenagers we are or aspire to be!
