Italians Keeping Up Their Spirits During Quarantine

Since the first infections in Italy, I have been in constant contact with my friends and associates who are keeping their spirits up as much as possible while following the official regulations and restrictions.

Here’s a message from one of my contacts there:

… I just came back from the country house where we spent 4 days taking care of our olive trees, as this is the season to prune them. There is no TV or internet connect, just nature, olive trees and a telephone to communicate. So we do just a regular life at home getting out just for food (always good food in Italy), exercise, and of course we drink a lot of good wine …

… the situation is very sad in this period, we are all locked down in our homes and everybody around is scared to go out. On the other hand, we are almost finished building the new suites and to renew all our rooms at the villa. Everything will look so nice once it is finished when you will return with your guests …

… here we are all very well and safe at home. I spend days with my daughters, studying and doing homework. Yes home is our new border. Today we are just taking a walk in the fields near the town seeking wild asparagus and wild garlic. Yesterday evening I had a cocktail hour conference call with 4 friends. We have temporary changed our life style. #IAMSTAYINGATHOME. Anyway today is a sunny day with spring temperatures and is asparagus time!

I’m the sporty girl in Paneretta and in my house making my exercises

… at the end we are Italian and we come back more stronger than before!

Not too long ago we were dreaming of our 2020 trips, the places we would see, the people we would share them with, the memories we would bring back. The spirit of the Che Bella has always been one of solidarity and support among our guests and in-country partners.

We’re going to keep that spirit in mind at this difficult and challenging time by continuing to bring you information and inspiration from the countries we travel. Here are a few Moments of Zen snippets to help us keep the pictures of bella Italia in our minds until we return again.
